National per capita consumption of the beverage grew 53% between 2010 and 2019

Did you know that eight out of ten Brazilians already strive daily to eat healthily? That's right! According to a survey conducted by the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (Fiesp) and published by Agência Brasil, 71% of those interviewed during the study stated that they prefer healthier products, even if they have to pay more for them.

Amid this new wave of health, tea consumption in Brazil has been greatly encouraged in recent years, including as a replacement for soft drinks and a good option at parties and food service establishments for those who are not fans of alcoholic beverages.

According to Adriana Mello, Business Development Manager for Lipton Ice Tea in Brazil, a brand belonging to PepsiCo's beverage division, the increase in tea consumption among Brazilians is directly related to new habits. "What we've seen in the Brazilian market is that consumers are interested in healthier categories, and this is also reflected in the ready-to-drink tea category. This is a market that has been growing at very significant rates in recent years, both in value and volume. To give you an idea, the growth in value of this market in the last 12 months is 10.6%, according to data from AC Nielsen," she states.
