Event on April 23 and 24 brings together industry experts and executives in São Paulo to discuss the future of food; registration for the fair is free for industry professionals
São Paulo, January 2024 – Presenting to the market the new business waves and trends in the functional ingredients industry – and how to surf them – is the objective of NIS – Nutri Ingredients Summit 2024. The event, which reaches its fourth edition this year, will be held on April 23 and 24, at the Transamérica Expo Center, in São Paulo.
NIS is a comprehensive platform that includes a trade show, conference, multisensory experiences, and awards. In 2023, it attracted approximately 3,800 visitors, who enjoyed hundreds of hours of content and approximately 50 exhibitors—representatives of over 200 ingredient brands. This year, the organizers' expectations have already been exceeded: the number of exhibiting companies grew by 50%—making it the largest edition in the event's history.
"NIS is a recognized event where these companies promote innovative solutions focused on health. In 2024, there will be more than 70 sponsors and exhibitors, including manufacturers and distributors of functional and healthy ingredients, both national and international," says Adriano Pegorelli, co-founder of NIS. The event is expected to welcome more than 4,000 industry professionals this year.
Visitors will be able to meet and reconnect with national and international manufacturers and distributors of natural, functional, and nutraceutical ingredients, vitamins, fat, sugar, and sodium substitutes, colors, extracts, and natural flavors. They will also be able to see new products in the areas of dairy proteins, fibers, texturizers, antioxidants, probiotics, prebiotics, enzymes, collagen, amino acids, plant-based proteins, and many others.
"NIS has become the leading and most comprehensive event for functional ingredients, focusing on innovation, product launches, audience development, and business generation. And the 2024 edition will be historic, with rich content, new speakers, new exhibitors, and new sensory experiences for visitors," says Cassiano Facchinetti, Co-founder of NIS.
The event is organized by NIS Live – a joint venture between GMF: Global Marketing Fairs, nggulo Comunicação Estratégica and Facchinetti Exhibitions & Consultancy. accreditation for the fair is free until April 20th.
NIS Conference
The fair's growth also parallels the expansion of the conference, the NIS Conference. This year, there will be more than 50 hours of innovative content on the future of the sector and how to overcome the challenges facing the joint mission of working towards the healthiness of food, beverages, and supplements. More than 400 delegates are expected to participate in the presentations.
"At the fourth edition of the NIS Conference, we'll be bringing some exciting new features to the presentation lineup, featuring excellent content and renowned keynote speakers. It will be two days of intense innovation, divided into modules focused on business and healthcare," Pegorelli emphasizes.
The NIS Conference, whose central theme will be "The New Wave of Business for the Food and Supplement Industries," is curated by Cristina Leonhardt, founder of Sra Inovadeira. She has over 20 years of experience in Food Research and Development.
"We're bringing content targeted at business decision-makers in the sector. Topics like decentralized trends, emerging technologies, nutrition, and women's health—some of which are being addressed for the first time," he says.
Among the names already confirmed are Lígia Zotini, founder of Voicers, who will address the food market from a futuristic perspective, and consultant Larissa Siechieloff, from Priceloop, whose presentation will focus on a crucial point in business: behavioral pricing.

NIS Golden Acai Award
Following its successful debut, the NIS Açaí de Ouro Award returns this year for its second edition, with the theme "The Ingredient as a Fundamental Factor for Innovation in Brazilian Industry." The award's goal is to recognize the industry and professionals who invest in innovation, new ingredients, processes, and packaging, aiming to create increasingly healthier, functional, and affordable products for consumers.
"The NIS Açaí de Ouro Award is the only industry award specifically focused on dietary supplements, functional foods, and healthier beverages. In 2023, we received over 100 entries with incredible and truly innovative products, and our expectations for this year are even greater, with even more innovations," says Facchinetti.

In 2024, NIS visitors will once again be able to participate in multisensory experiences to learn more about the products and trends presented by sponsors. These include:
- NIS Taste Live: Functional tastings offered by sponsors and partners in a show kitchen with exclusive menus focused on innovative ingredients.
- NIS Applications Trends: Arena where brands will present, in lectures, solutions, ingredients and applications in the food, beverage, supplement and pharmaceutical industries.
