NIS – Nutri Ingredients Summit celebrates the return of in-person events, exceeds all expectations, and marks a major reunion between the ingredients sector and the industry.
More than 1,270 highly qualified professionals from the food, beverage, supplement and pharmaceutical industries visited the event over two days at the Transamérica Expo Center in São Paulo.
The NIS – Nutri Ingredients Summit was held on October 19th and 20th to bring together the main global ingredient suppliers, with industry executives and entrepreneurs, to discuss, network and launch new ingredient technologies, with a focus on health, functional and nutraceuticals.
The event presented new developments from more than 30 sponsors and welcomed representatives from companies of all sizes and from several Brazilian states and some Latin American countries, who were finally able to meet in person after more than two years, thus marking the sector's recovery with great security, a sense of optimism and business generation.
"The NIS exceeded not only our expectations, but also those of our sponsors, attendees, and partners. We are extremely pleased with the overall outcome of the event, particularly the quality of attendees, the positive feedback from sponsoring companies, and the high-quality presentations and debates we received at the Congress, thanks to the partner organizations and companies that made up the program," commented Cassiano Facchinetti, Director of the NIS and partner at GMF.
Guided by the motto "Food as a source of health and the ingredient as the protagonist," the NIS Congress featured more than 30 presentations, including technical lectures, debates, success stories, and panels with industry leaders. It was attended by prominent figures, representatives of organizations and the government, as well as CEOs of innovative companies.
The NIS Congress was divided into four modules, covering key industry areas: consumer trends and habits, sustainability, new ingredients and their applications, and regulatory issues. Renowned representatives, such as physical education teacher Marcio Atalla; Glauco Bertoldo, Director of MAPA; Alexandre Horta, Executive Director of ABIR; Alexandre Novachi, Director of Regulatory Affairs at ABIA; Gustavo Guadagini, General Director of GFI Brazil; Cynthia Antonnacia, CEO of Equilibrium; Fabiana Vancetto, Director of Mintel; Ricardo Laurino, President of SVB; Rodrigo Brito, Sustainability Manager at Coca-Cola Brazil; and representatives from ITAL, Visanco, ABENUTRI, ABRE, ABIFISA, Locale, and Nutri Connection, among others, were present in the main arena.
"The NIS Congress was the heart of the event and offered exclusive content, with relevant topics for industry professionals who are on the front lines of innovation and the research and development process for new products. The four modules provided an overview of the main challenges and opportunities for the sector, focusing on consumers, health, innovation, and food safety. In total, we had more than 250 delegates over the two days, which is a very impressive number for a recovery event," added Cassiano Facchinetti.
Another highlight of the event was NIS Free Content, a free knowledge area for visitors, who were able to participate in technical presentations on new ingredients and applications, presented by the sponsoring team.
"NIS is a technical and business event, focused primarily on content, so we've invested heavily in bringing this exclusive program to our attendees. This cutting-edge content brings qualified research and development, marketing, and product professionals to the event, generating visits to sponsor booths, which is what they expect and appreciate at NIS," commented Adriano Pegorelli, NIS Director and partner at Ânggulo.
"The atmosphere of optimism was indeed the highlight of the pavilion, as our clients are renewing their memberships for the 2022 edition at a rapid pace, and we project growth of more than 80% in the second edition, which motivates us to develop new experiences that connect visitors with sponsors," celebrates Adriano Pegorelli.
NIS organizers announced another new development last week: the launch of NIS Feed, an exclusive event that will bring together leading professionals to discuss innovation in ingredients and raw materials for the feed and animal nutrition industries.
"NIS Feed is an evolution of the NIS Universe, which will follow the same model as NIS, but with a focus on the challenges and opportunities of sustainable animal production. We researched this market extensively before deciding to launch the event and are very happy and confident with the partnership with the industry's leading media outlet, Feed&Food magazine, published by Ciasulli," celebrated Adriano Pegorelli.
NIS Feed will take place on November 9th and 10th, 2022, also at Transamérica Expo Center and is an initiative and partnership between GMF, Ânggulo and Editora Ciasulli, who have combined their expertise and relationships with the market to produce this event for a sector that presents stratospheric numbers and that increasingly invests in technologies.
And to round out the NIS Universe 2022 calendar, the second edition of NIS In-Person has already been scheduled for May 24th and 25th, once again at Transamerica Expo. Until then, the successful NIS Webinars series will continue to bring monthly online content to industry professionals, featuring new topics and speakers.
